Front Office and Billing Careers

Our training programs are delivered in three ways: one-on-one, job shadowing, and/or self-guided. It is expected from our team members to take full advantage of the tools we provide and do not misuse the training time allocated to their success in our practice. Some of the training might be overwhelming at the beginning, but it will make sense as you start getting in your role. It is expected for you to take good notes and take your time to comprehend the material that is given to you. We expect you to operate at the highest level every day.

There are 6 categories of training in the office. These are:

1. Orientation: Your first 2 weeks of orientation will be a mixture of one-on-one, job shadowing, and self-guided. In that time, you will become familiarized with our company culture, how we utilize our EMR, communication protocols, team member roles, and be introduced to risk management, work safety, office schedule and best practices.

2. Process Training: This is the heart and soul of how we operate and work together. Process training is a constant training and validation of our systems and protocols.

3. Skills Training: This is ongoing, one-on-one training related to your daily task and operations. The main idea of skills training is to think and apply common sense during your daily duties. One of the few examples of this category will be daily tasks, preparing for your day, setting the day for success, anticipation and removing any perceived barriers that you might have. Here we will evaluate how much technology training is needed for you to use our tools.

4. Technology Training: We are a highly technology-based office. We want technology to work for us – not the other way around. It is proven that once we take advantage of the technology, our task flow improves and we are able to supply the proper care and attention to our patients. Some of this training can be one-on-one or self-guided. This type of training includes a more in-depth knowledge of our EMR, Microsoft Office, email, phone system, GoToMeeting, ShareFile™, fax server, hospital portal, patient portal, and many others.

5. Clinical Training: This training is very specialized. It’s main goal is to introduce you to cardiology terminology. You will learn most of it as you go but in order to reduce the learning curve, we provide modules that help you get acquainted with the terms. These modules will help you ask the right questions, assist patients, understand procedures, and medications. Once you master certain levels, you will move to other areas of our office for more hands-on training.

6. Compliance training: This is all related to federal and state regulations. Without the knowledge of these regulations, we can not operate and can get penalties. This might include some insurance protocols and regulations as well. Compliance will also include billing procedures as these have to be followed to every extent and detail.
