Physician-General Cardiology/Non-Interventional
A successful and growing private cardiology practice in The Villages/Lady Lake, Florida, is seeking to hire a Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join a busy solo physician. This addition is crucial to address the increasing patient load and provide the highest level of cardiovascular care to our primarily senior-based community. Our practice is deeply committed to placing cardiovascular health at the heart of our community, with a strong emphasis on listening, caring, and educating patients throughout the treatment process.
Position Requirements:
- Florida Medical License
- Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease
- Board Certified in Echocardiography
- Board Certified in Nuclear Medicine
- Proficiency in reading ultrasound, nuclear, monitors, Holter’s, walking stress, TEE, and medication management
- Conduct 15-minute follow-ups with a minimum of 25 patients per day
- Perform 30-minute new patient visits

- Base salary for candidates with general cardiology, plus preventative cardiac and women’s heart disease experience: $500K

Required Licenses and/or Certifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Florida

- ACLS (within 3 months of hire if not certified at hire)

Primary Job Responsibility
The primary job responsibility of this position is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care, including but not limited to the assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status.
Key Responsibilities
Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as required:
- Prescribe medication dosage, routes, and frequencies based on patients’ characteristics such as age and gender.
- Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and ultrasounds.
- Analyze and interpret patients’ history, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
- Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
- Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, and injuries.
- Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized.
- Counsel patients about drug regimens, possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, and herbal remedies.
- Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.
- Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions, with attention to vulnerable populations.
- Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients’ individual circumstances.
- Understand Electronic Health Record, utilize it to its fullest capabilities, and have record complete within policy regulations.
- Document completely all interactions, visits, and other patient encounters for accurate and timely billing.

The work environment is usually quiet, with limited exposure to loud noises, extreme temperature fluctuations, or strenuous activity.
